2008

Well, July came and went. We have now moved in to our house and are settling. It is safe to say that for many reasons, which I shall not bore you with, this has been the most difficult move in our carreer as Global Nomads. Hopefully we are over the worst and can look forward to enjoying the nice people and the beautiful nature of Northern Ireland.

The rains came down - yet again - Saturday 16th August.    These pictures are from the A12 Westlink in Belfast under 20ft of water....  so today, Monday, Poul will have to find another route to work
The following pic's are from our walk along the River Lagan on Sunday.
   The path is flooded
I kid you not, we saw a bit of blue up above on this day

another path, totally submerged (water is kneedeep)  There are 1000 miles of National Cycle Network  and finally a peep down our road towards the mountains
After a week the river is closer to normal  - it's still possible to see where the water was during the floods.

The white cliffs of Dover: in late August we drove from Belfast to Denmark via Holland. This includes three ferry crossings - this being the second.
this is Laan v Heldenburg 52 in Voorburg, where we lived for 4 years in the early nineties   The few days in Holland gave me a chance to catch up with Susanne (previously Dubai now Holland)
.- and we had lunch in Voorburg
