Jeremy, ass. F&B manager and responsible for the evening.
Pouls speech was full of love and very touching. At the end he presented me with a necklace he had designed himself - which I was too emotional to even see (had to go to the ladies to look in the mirror)
Klaus also held a speech in which he among other funny stories told everybody how Poul always carries his own fitted sportsgear (golfclubs, bowlingball and shoes, snookerqueue etc....)

I had to say something too although that had not been the plan originally..
The "kaffequinder" had even made a song (much to the bewilderment of the non-danes in the party- actually half the guest as it turned out), which illustrated our time in Dubai really well.

The club kindly provided the cake - - and the sword for cutting the cake.
After the dinner at the club we all went back to our house - pictures to follow of how Poul and I were transported: namely in a Rolls Royce kindly organised by Uranus and Tarek
Natmad (snacks) were soon on the table and although all the guests claimed to be absolutely full - somehow there was a lot less on the plates next day
Ann and John havung a laugh in the kitchen Nina, Birgitte and Kresten To the uninitiated it seemed a bit strange that I was this pleased to receive "The Lady" - however my pleasure was more related to the fact that I know that soon some other unfortunate family will have a party and she will find a new home.

Doug having a rest after chasing Ginger round the house......
Ginger is the very independent cat from next door - where he allows Doug and Linda to stay if they don't interfere in his life. He often graces our garden with his presence

20th May we were awakened by a trumpet fanfare and singing.
The "Kaffequinder" with their husbands and children came to give us the traditional start to our 25th wedding anniversary
We were not quite awake - but already deeply touched by this gesture from our friends

"I østen stiger solen op" performed by Nina, Christian and Flemming

- and Birgit, Jan, Troels and Anette

- as well as Franciska, Caroline and Ann-Katrine
The very traditional "Gate of Honour" (or as it says in the dictonary Triumphal Arch) made with bougainvillas in Nina and Peders garden and fitted at our front door the same morning
The sign with our names, dates and picture
In true picnic style our friends had brought breakfast: tea and coffee, Gammel Dansk and Nordsøolie, homemade pancakes and rolls, cheeses and jams, plates and cups, milk, juices and fruitsalad: in short everything and then some.

Claus looks as if I scare him - it was early in the morning, though.

No more names - by now you should know everybody

We are fortunate to have so many friends here in Dubai - something we appreciate every day.  On an occasion like this it is highlighted even more and we are truly grateful for everything that has been done for us over the whole weekend. Everyone has helped make this occasion so very special and we will cherish the memories forever. Thank you to each and everyone of you.
